Aglets....anti-aging

May 20th 2011 15:28
How are aglets related to anti-aging?
read on and then click for more info.

Fans for of the Disney cartoon, Phineas and Ferb will immediately know that an aglet is the little plastic cap on the end of a shoelace. What does that have to do with anti-aging?

Well, a recent article in Women's World related this little mostly unnoticed item to telomeres on genes. These little protective caps over genes deteriorate over time, accelerating aging. It can be frustrating to try to lace a shoe when the aglets are ripped or missing, and it can be frustrating to look and feel old before your time.
Thankfully, you can go buy a new pair of shoelaces, and better yet, there are ways to keep your telomeres healthy and whole.
