How We Did It
Weight Loss Choices That Will Work for You
-by Nancy B. Kennedy
Nancy Kennedy did a great job of showing that diets are not the answer,
figuring out what works for you is the only way to achieve success.
You cannot go to the grocery store without seeing the latest and greatest diet plan plastered on magazines, better yet - contradictory diet plans. One says eat only protein, another wants you to exist on only juice, or pop a pill, or add a miracle supplement...
In essence, this book does the same thing. A complimation of contradictory weight loss plans are presented, fleshed out so the reader fully understands what each one entails from the mouth of a person who succeeded.
I loved this glimpse into real life success stories. It proved how very, very different each and every one of us are. What worked for you, may very well not work for me. My busy life cannot be matched up with a plan that requires a lot of special meals, but it does relate with the life of Heidi Bylsma. She is a home schooling mom, a writer who struggled with a running addiction, then with weight gain, success and then failure..ultimately she gave up her control to God and was able to regain her sense of self.
Regardless of who you are, or where you are on your weight loss journey, this is a good jumpstart. Not only will you see what is out there in terms of possible ways to achieve your goal (we all get 'stuck') - it also shows shines a spotlight on real life people who have been successful.
