Category: What's Really Good For you
Serendipitous moment number one....
Okay, well I did not want to shell out $100 for a pair of fitness shoes, fitness WALKING shoes. (I have, in the not so distant past dropped more than a hundred dollars on a pair of soccer cleats..and my old running shoes were very close....not to mention the smokin' pair of red heels in my closet....) but walking? I just couldn't do it.
BUT, my husband could, and did.
When I was explaining my k-mart purchase, I mentioned the fact the shoes claim to help with lower back pain, posture and are good for people who are on their feet all day. That clicked with him, he's on his feet all day and has dealt with back injuries. So, we sat down at the computer to find him a "work appropriate" pair. We did, and in the process he saw my wish list on Amazon....and casually told me to just order a pair. Right now? Really? Okay....so I ordered a pair of fitness shoes for both of us.
Mine already came in, he's still waiting for his. I have the black mary jane style sneaker, it actually doesn't look horrible with a black casual skirt and tank top...at least I told myself that as I walked the dogs.
Will let you know how these 'miracle shoes' do for us.
Serendipitous moment number two...
Armed with my fancy new fitness shoes, I considered buying a pedometer. So, while grocery shopping with my son, I took a detour over to the sporting goods section and looked at all the different models. Picked out a simple pedometer and popped it in the cart.
About halfway through the store, I figured the pedometer was really unnecessary. I could just time my walks...and really, the idea was to use the shoes to walk the dogs and that is a fairly consistent route through the neighborhood and park system. So I put it back.
That same day, I went to get the mail...and in our mailbox was a large package....with my name on it. Cool, love mail. Opened it up and yes, you guessed it, there was a pedometer inside. Seriously. There is no reason for me to make that one up.
I've dabbled with the theories of the law of intention, watched What the Bleep several times, and believe in asking for what I want....but these two incidences, back to back, really threw me for a loop.
Like my daughter says, the universe is conspiring for me to be successful...yeah, or something like that.
