Why body mad?

It seems to me that the western world is mad about bodies.
Female bodies more so than male, but sadly the pressures on males to conform to the "ideal" are now also stepping up. Rising rates of easting disorders in adolescent boys is just one of the nastier effects.
"Mad" however, has different meanings:
Mad, as in an obsessive passion for - yep that fits the body culture.
Mad, as in angry - yep that works for body culture too
Mad, as in crazy. And that surely does fit, as we spend billions and billions and billions of dollars/euros every year on weight loss pills, potions, lotions, and concoctions, none of which actually guarantee weight loss in the long term.
So this blog is about the madness of the body - and how to begin seeing a different way.
