Why Wonder Woman?

In choosing a role model, celebrities just didn’t cut it, and while I am inspired by some of my peers, they weren’t enough. I needed to set the bar as high as possible…and then take it up a notch, set it on fire and watch the fireworks that ensue…
So, Wonder Woman was chosen. She is based off the Amazons of Greek mythology and was created to bring the Amazon ideals of love, peace and equality. ( I am an original idealist, a “warrior Pollyana”)
Her powers include; superhuman strength, flight, super-speed, super-stamina, and super-agility. (like I said about setting the bar high…)
She is highly proficient in hand-to-hand combat and in the art of tactical warfare. (As a mom and teacher, tactical warfare will come in handy…I want the skills and energy to be able to fight and protect my family)
She also possesses an animal-like cunning and a natural rapport with animals, which has in the past been presented as an actual ability to communicate with the animal kingdom. ( with 2 dogs, a cat and several random fish to call my own, plus the close proximity of my house to herds of deer, squirrel, rabbits and other critters…I can use this skill too. “deer whispering could keep suicidal bambi’s from jumping in front of my car”
She uses her Lasso of Truth (which forces those bound by it to tell the truth), a pair of indestructible bracelets, and an invisible airplane. ( Again, I am a mom. nuff said)
So, that is why I chose a comic book heroine as my role model.
